There are plenty of living options, the most basic one being living in a dorm. The price will vary depending on where you go to school. You can't really pick your roommate unless you already someone who's going to the same school. Once you find out who your roommate is, you'll likely be given their contact info, if not, make sure you get it when you meet them. Make sure you and your roommate(s) are on the same page about things and figure out what your pet peeves are. It's also good to establish whether or not you're both cool with either of you having friends over and, if so, what times it's cool and what times either of you would rather not have company. And don't you dare set foot in those showers without shower shoes because that floor is all kinda of crusty, dusty, and musty.

Safety tip: Living in dorms does not always equal a safe environment. Unfortunately, campus rapes are very, very common. Always use the buddy system and never let someone into your building unless they have access themselves. Do not let a guy walk you to your dorm alone. Even if he seems trustworthy, the most you should allow is to let them walk you to your building (only if you really really trust them) but NEVER let them walk you all the way to your dorm room. You do not need an escort in the building unless it's someone who lives there. Please be diligent about this, you can never be too careful when it comes to college guys, there is no shortage of perpetrators on college campuses.

Perhaps most importantly: for the love of god, if you live in a dorm, you NEED to be vaccinated against meningitis. Dorms are a cesspool for it and it can easily kill you or disable you for the rest of your life.
