Dear Kelis,

You made it! I cannot believe you are finally 18- well, to me, you are 8. I'm so lucky I've gotten to watch you grow up and go from muskrat to woman. I literally remember mom being pregnant with you and the day you were born, and it slowly dawning on me that we were not, in fact, giving you back to the hospital. Just yesterday you were duct taping bed frames and watching every single BTS interview known to man. I've gotten to witness you go from looking like a tiny sumo wrestler to looking goofy as hell (present day). You are one of the most resourceful people I have ever met and I know that will serve you well.

I know I like to make fun of you for being stupid but you are actually one of the smartest people I know, though you'll never catch me slipping and admitting that to your face. I can't wait to see what you accomplish and see what kind of life you build for yourself. You are so bright and so capable. I know your life will change and you'll get busier but that will never stop me from calling you to ask what ice cream flavor I want and fighting you on which flavor is and isn't appropriate for a Tuesday afternoon. I love you so much and you are truly my best friend and emotional support sister, while also simultaneously being my firstborn lol.

I hope adulthood is all you want and more, but lord knows you need help when it comes to the ins and outs of daily life lol so that's where this guide comes in. There are a couple of different sections that include info on different topics. You can use this guide in case I'm not around to help (like if I'm eating or something, not dead). You can be pretty hardheaded so I beg, please heed my advice fool.
